Juan Karamoy

Coach

(Provincial-level player)

 

Juan began his training as a singles player in PB Djarum in 2009 and later specialized in doubles in 2012 with a combined of over 15 years of experience. As an Indonesian-born provincial-level badminton player, he keeps learning new skills and is passionate in passing those skills to younger badminton enthusiasts.

Christy George

Coach

A provincial level badminton player with rich practical experience in coaching kids back in his home country India. He has a deep understanding of the nuances of badminton - its strategies, techniques, and the philosophy that underlies every move.

ANDY BAI 

Coach

Andy began his badminton training in 2014 at Soong Badminton Academy and trained at the RA
Badminton Club for the rest of his junior career. As Ottawa’s top male junior player for several
years, Andy won several provincial titles and competed nationally. After moving to Montreal for
university, Andy competed on the McGill Varsity Badminton Team and trained at Club de
Badminton Excellence Yonex in Laval. He was named 2022-2024 RSEQ All-Star, 2023 McGill
Varsity Badminton Male MVP, and has represented Canada internationally. Andy is currently a
medical student at the University of Ottawa and Head Coach of the Gee-Gees Badminton Team.

Martin Jutras

Martin Jutras has been involved in badminton for over 35 years.  His involvement started  early as a junior player in the province of Quebec. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces at an early age and competed at the regional and national military level for 29 years. He competed for the Quebec Region, Ontario Region, Maritime Region and Pacific Region at the regional and national military levels. He strongly believe in basic fundamentals such as off court fitness training, discipline, apllied footwork and technical skills.

Chris Dorey has been participating in, and loving the sport of badminton for 50 years. He believes that playing badminton is like a puzzle; each shot taken should fit perfectly into your game, allowing you to control the court, and your opponent. Training is imperative to growth as a player and that is what BHA is trying to achieve by offering coaching that will allow you to move through the various levels and become a great player.
